The Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational is held in honor of the late Robert H. Chapman, Jr. Mr. Chapman, a longtime member of the Country Club of Spartanburg, was the only man to serve as president of both the South Carolina Golf Association & the Carolinas Golf Association. In his business life, Mr. Chapman was a local and national leader in the textile industry.

The BCJI tournament benefits the Spartanburg County Foundation and the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation. To date, our supporters have donated $200,000 to scholarship recipients and $190,000 to the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. Former participants include PGA winners Lucas Glover, Sean O'Hair, Bubba Watson, William McGirt, Dustin Johnson and the 2011 FedEx Cup Champion, Bill Haas.  Collectively, $255 million has been earned on the PGA Tour by BCJI alumni!
