EVENT INFORMATION

ENTRY FEE: The participant entry fee is $300. All applications require a credit card to be placed on hold. The entry fee can be paid by check or credit card and will not be processed until acceptance. 

APPLICATION PROCESS: Players who meet an invitation category will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.  At-large applications will be reviewed based on the number of commited players who have registered.  If you have received an invitation to the 2024 event, please click the link on the homepage to register!  If you are registering from out of state, please use the following instructions to assist you in completing your registration on the bluegolf website.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Registration begins on June 3, 2024 and ends August 26, 2024.   

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations need to be submitted to the SCJGA via phone or email with Justing Fleming. Cancellations received prior to 3 pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 will receive a full refund. Cancellations received after 3 pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 will forfeit their entry fee.

PARTICIPANT CHECK-IN: Player check-in will be held Friday, September 27, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at The Briars Creek Country Club Clubhouse. Board Members will also be present to answer any additional inquiries regarding the weekend's events.  Players unable to register at this time should notify Justin Fleming  or the Bobby Chapman Tournament Committee prior to September 20, 2024.

PAIRINGS: Pairings will be available Friday, September 27, 2024. You will be able to access these in the following three areas:

• Round 1 Tee Times page link, located on website homepage

• Parent/Player/Coach Communication:
  • Keep your conversation with the player to words of encouragement
  • Per the rules of golf, advice may not be given.
  • Spectators should not give rulings. Seek rules official if a need arises.
• Walking the course:
  • Spectators should stay on cart paths. In the absence of paths, stay in the rough. Please stay off fairways, tees and greens.
  • Phone devices must be on silent at all times.
  • Be aware of errant shots. Your attendance is at your own risk.
• Briars Creek Facilities:
  • Players will not be provided lockers at the 2024 tournament, please plan accordingly.
  • Food & beverage placed on course are for participants and parents only.
  • Please refrain from wearing hats inside the clubhouse. 
• Spectator Cart Policy
  • Golf carts and spectator carts are not allowed without a Government issued Blue Permanent Handicap placard. Please find a Bobby Chapman Board Member on-site to receive an approved cart.  Note that any disturbance of play may cause the forfeiture of this exception.

ACCOMMODATIONS: There will be no room blocks for the 2024 event, however, please see below for a list of suggested hotels in the Charleston area.

PRIVATE HOUSING: Will not be available for the 2024 event.  

AIRPORT: Charleston International Airport (CHS) is our preferred airport and is approximately 25 minutes from downtown Charleston and 47 minutes from The Golf Club at Briars Creek.  It is easily accessible via Interstate 26.  

GROUND TRANSPORTATION: For traveling families, available car rental services are listed on the airports website, hyperlinked above. 

Spectator Parking:

• Is located at the club house in the marked parking spaces.  
• Only participants may park on property and carpooling is encouraged.

Shuttle Service:

• There will be no shuttles service from hotels to The Golf Club at Briars Creek.  
• If traveling by air, please see Travel and Lodging for available car rental services on the Charleston International Airport's website. 

Information below regarding tournament practice rounds:

• Thursday practice rounds are available to players at a rate of $100.  
  • Please call the Golf Shop (number listed below) to inquire about available times.  
  • Tee times will be allocated based on course availability that day. 

• Friday practice rounds are complimentary to players
  • If you wish to reserve a time prior to 11am, they will be allocated based on availability.
  • After 11am, you may reserve any time slot for the rest of the day, that hasn't already been allocated to another player. 

Parents are allowed to play with their player, for a fee.  Please inquire about the fee with the Golf Shop when making any of your practice round reservations.
